IT4IT is the solution. It is a prescriptive IT reference architecture.
The product of four years’ hard work by The Open Group, this standard was released in October 2015.
The IT4IT standard does not replace anything. It complements and enhances your current structures, and addresses something that your existing frameworks, up until now, have never addressed.
Models such as ITIL and COBIT offer standards on a process level but give nothing prescriptive. They do not tell you how to manage your service models and life-cycles, or what kinds of systems to put in place. This standard is the natural next step.
It reduces cost, simplifies, and brings end-to-end traceability to your IT production. But the Open Group decided that it wasn’t enough to just solve the operational side of IT.
IT starts with planning. Business process modeling identifies the problems that the lines of business have. This leads to demand being registered with IT. IT translates this into a requirement.
Strategic Axis is one of the first Open Group accredited suppliers of the IT4IT standard training. Our professional and engaging certification courses offer you an opportunity to self-pace your learning and reduce your costs.

YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO
IT4IT was designed to solve the problems many enterprises have with the error-prone, slow, manual activities associated with linking functions such as code management, packaging, release management, deployment, and configuration management. It helps with all of these challenges by prescribing a single architectural framework across the value chain.
A standard operational data model and standardized interfaces are essential to overcoming functional gaps and friction that have grown up at the touchpoints between traditional silos.
To provide effective end-to-end value, a new way of thinking about the business of IT4IT is needed.
The IT4IT model divides the value chain into four parts, called value streams, that each has a role in defining, creating, delivering, and supporting the IT services that customers consume.
IT4IT lets IT practitioners understand gaps and overlaps, and provides a framework that you can use to understand causes more clearly.
