Traffic Operator Training

A Traffic Operator is principally responsible for the coordination of logistics shipments and the handling of administration, whilst also overseeing payments and credit negotiation within Traffic Management.

Traffic Operator course spans the full range of critical areas from the characteristics of the transportation system, analysis of flow and capacity, traffic operations, traffic control devices, pedestrian/bicycle facilities, to collision data analysis and Intelligent Transportation Systems.

This basic training is designed to train operators in the necessary knowledge, skills, and ability to work as traffic operators.

Students gain a robust, comprehensive understanding of the principles, and working concepts of all significant areas of traffic engineering as they are practiced today.

At the end of the course, students should be able to review a traffic issue and determine possible approaches to solve the problem.

This course supports incident management instruction at the highest level and utilizes the advantages of traffic operators who work 24/7 and continually monitor the traffic network through closed-circuit television.

The program tests knowledge of techniques and equipment; recordkeeping and report procedures; plans, specifications, and contracts; roadway geometrics; and analysis of data.
